ABOUT DAVE MALONEY

 

I love the movies. But I also love the pre-rolls, the TV commercials, and the explainer videos, too. My passion for stories like these is what has guided my work for the past 20+ years. Whether in film or advertising, on my own or as a part of a SAG-scale production, I have devoted my entire career to telling them.

 

My background spans all areas of filmmaking, from production and cinematography to editing and animation. I developed this diverse skill set early on working as a freelancer in films and commercials. This included four feature films (Private Parts, Addicted to Love, Copland, and Extreme Measures) and many name brand commercials as well (Pepsi, Wendy’s, and Dunkin Donuts, to name a few).

 

Looking for a change, I left the freelance world to become a staff editor at psuedo.com. It was the first website of its kind for live audio and video webcasting. We were making content, and we were making history. Before long, I was not just editing but shooting and directing as well.

 

From here, I made my way back to the ad industry, where I’ve been fortunate to work on a diverse set of projects for a variety of brands ever since — brands like the Boston Celtics, 99 Restaurant, Converse, Zildjian, Brother Printers, Hannaford, and Straight Talk Wireless.

 

While my passion for storytelling has expanded to include what I like to call “content telling”, my one true love remains filmmaking. I am excited to finally be finishing up my first short film, “Astrolabe” which I wrote, produced, and directed
